ThinkSmart Appoints Bendigo Adelaide Bank Executive As Group Chief Operating Officer

ThinkSmart Limited (ASX:TSM), a leading international computer and office equipment financing company, has appointed Anthony Baum, the current Group Executive of Wealth and Third Party Banking at Bendigo Adelaide Bank as Chief Operating Officer for the Group.

Mr Baum has nearly 20 years experience in the banking sector, having previously been responsible for Adelaide Bank Limited’s Wealth Management businesses.  Prior to this role, he was Chief General Manager of Financial Markets for Adelaide Bank Ltd, and also served as the Group Treasurer of Adelaide Bank Ltd.  He joined the business in 2000 from BNP Paribas in London.

“This is a key appointment for the ThinkSmart Group as we continue to grow our business through Australia and Europe,” said ThinkSmart Executive Chairman and CEO, Ned Montarello.  “Anthony brings significant experience in financial services to the Group and will play an important role in managing the growth of our business in addition to helping expand the scope of our funding operations.”

Mr Baum’s appointment recognises the growth of the Group introducing the newly dedicated role of Chief Operating Officer.  The role of Group Chief Financial Officer continues to be held by ThinkSmart company secretary Neil Barker.  Mr Baum will begin his new role on 1 September 2010.

Earlier this month, ThinkSmart also appointed Mr Fernando de Vicente, the former International Managing Director of giant electrical retailer DSG International, as a non-executive director based in Europe.
